How It Works
Annette Reeder began her wellness ministry by inviting others into her kitchen, and so can you. Ask the women (or men) you know who are interested in learning how to eat according to biblical and health guidelines over for a meal. Cook a yummy, healthy meal together and consider asking each participant to bring an ingredient. Give each person a copy of the recipe to take home. Plan on weekly, biweekly, or monthly classes. Charge as you decide is best. (Consider: How much are people willing to pay for a meal eating out that’s much less healthy?)
1) Plan the class (menu, who you'll invite, what you will charge/ask participants to bring, location, time, etc.).
2) Invite your guests.
3) Print recipe cards/information packets.
4) Confirm participants 2-3 days ahead of time (send 2-3 reminders leading up to the class).
5) Gather all ingredients.
6) Get location ready (ingredients, cooking tools & resources, make sure everything's clean).
7) Welcome guests with a smile.
8) Start the class with a prayer.
9) Give instructions and ask participants (as space/time/ability warrant) to help as you prepare the meal.
10) Enjoy delicious, healthy food together!
How to choose the right location
Start Small:
- Your Own Kitchen: Begin with small classes in your kitchen. As you gain confidence and experience, pray and seek
opportunities for a venue with a larger kitchen space.
Alternative Options Without a Full Kitchen:
- Smoothie Class: A blender is all you need to demonstrate healthy smoothie recipes.
- Power 5 Salad Class: Teach how to create balanced salads with pre-prepared ingredients.
Creative Venues:
- Church Fellowship Hall: Often equipped with large kitchens and spacious areas.
- Office Break Room: Use after hours for convenience and accessibility.
- Borrow a Friend’s Kitchen: A supportive friend might have the perfect space for your class.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I have to be certified to teach a cooking class?
A. No! We all have valuable information to share with others. Someone once said if you know 10% more than your student, then you have something to teach them. As a student of biblical wellness yourself (whether you've watched a ton of The Biblical Nutritionist videos, devoured the information from The Biblical Nutritionist website, and/or taken Courses through the Biblical Wellness Ministry, you have a wealth of biblical health knowledge to share!
Q. What if I don't have a large kitchen?
A. There are always ways to share! Check out our "how to pick a location" section for creative ideas. Also, prep can always be done in a dining room and often outside. Plus, capitalize on the freedom to invite who'll fit. There's no perfect size for a cooking class.
Q. Can I use Annette's recipes?
A. Yes, yes, yes, and amen! Please feel free to use any recipes from Annette' cookbooks you've purchased, YouTube channel, and website. Make sure to share the source for the recipe so your participants will know where to find more delicious and nutritious meal ideas.
